About NL Film & TV

NL Nijenhuis & De Levita Film & TV creates entertaining, market-driven and high quality drama productions for both cinema and television. In a relatively short period of time, NL Film & TV have left their mark on the Dutch film and television history. Joining forces in 2001, CEO's Alain de Levita and Johan Nijenhuis produced several successful feature films, television drama and comedies.

Feature films such as the award winning Costa!, Full Moon Party and Snow Fever drove audiences back to the Dutch movie theatres. Costa! attracted 680,000 viewers and Full Moon Party became the best-viewed Dutch film of 2002.

Other feature films include the romantic comedies I Love To Love and Alice in Glamourland. Alice in Glamourland has scooped the prestigious Dutch film award Golden Calf for Best Screenplay.
By creating the movie Floris - a historic costume drama featuring some of the most respected Dutch actors as well as young new talent - NL Film & TV brought a historic TV series hero back to life.

NL Film & TV's hit television series Zoop, broadcasted by Nickelodeon, has glued young audiences to the tube for three seasons. The second series scored an overall average market share of no less than 48.5 percent amongst the target group 6-12.
Inspired by its success, NL Film & TV took it one step further by taking cast and crew into the jungle of Africa. The result, the feature film Zoop in Africa, first appeared in Dutch movie theatres on 14 July 2005. Within one week the movie attracted well over 100,000 viewers and therefore reached the Golden Status. The same year, Zoop in Africa scooped the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award 2005 for Best Film, beating tough competition such as Shrek 2, Madagascar and Spongebob the movie. On top of this, the TV series ZOOP won the award for Best TV Programme.
Following this overwhelming success and encouraged by thousands of Zoop fans, NL Film & TV exchanged the jungle of Africa for the country with the world's largest film industry: India. Shot almost entirely on location including the world famous Bollywood studios, Zoop in India was successfully launched in more than 100 theatres in summer of 2006.
In July 2007 a third Zoop-adventure will be released in Dutch theatres, the feature film Zoop in South America.

Dominating not only on the big screen, NL Film & TV created high quality drama series for television as well. Besides the series Zoop and Costa!, a small law firm in Amsterdam has come to life in the series Keyzer & De Boer. A third season is in production and will be aired by public broadcasters KRO and NCRV later this year.

Other series include Heartbeat on public broadcaster NCRV and Milo's Law on both Net 5 and the Belgium VTM. For the first time ever in Dutch history, NL Film & TV have produced a daily sitcom entitled Samen. 100 Episodes were screened by Talpa in 2005. This channel also broadcasted NL Film & TV's ‘light’ drama series called Lieve Lust. NL Film & TV’s most recent hit series are Voetbalvrouwen, broadcasted by Talpa as well. The first episode in March 2007 attracted almost 1.300.000 viewers.

The regional drama series Country Roads, including ‘native dialect-speaking' actors, has become a huge hit in the Netherlands. Country Roads has achieved an average market share of 40 percent per episode, peaking at 53.2 percent. Starting off in just one part of the country, the series will soon go national as public broadcaster KRO will air the show from May 2007. Four other local television stations have already broadcast this television hit. At this moment a third season of Country Roads is in development.
Due to the big success of Country Roads, NL Film & TV developed two other series for regional broadcasters. L1, the broadcaster from Limburg (South of Holland) has now their own Heaven’s Gate and for RTV Utrecht NL Film & TV produces the regional series Nachtegaal en Zonen.
